01 How to spot a fake Amazon discount

The percentage Amazon shows is measured against a list price that the seller sets. It is not always what the product actually sold for last month.

A "60% off" tag on an item that has quietly sat at that price for a year is not a saving at all. Three checks before you act on any discount:

• Compare against the street price, not the list price. If a product has hovered around $40 for months, a "was $99, now $45" tag is marketing, not a deal.
• Check who is selling it. Shipped and sold by Amazon, or Fulfilled by Amazon from an established seller, is safer than an unknown third party with a deep discount and no history.
• Read the recent reviews, not the average. A 4.5-star average built three years ago tells you nothing about the unit shipping today, especially where sellers swap suppliers.

Every listing here pulls its discount straight from Amazon's own saving basis through Amazon's product API, so the percentage is Amazon's figure rather than one invented here. That is more honest than a made-up number, but it is still Amazon's data, not an independent price-history audit.

02 What discount is worth acting on?

It depends entirely on the category, which is why a single site-wide threshold makes no sense.

This site applies a different minimum per category for exactly that reason. A 35% cut on an espresso machine is worth surfacing. The same 35% on a face serum is an ordinary Tuesday.

03 Why every listing shows the downsides

Most deal sites only tell you what is good, because their job ends at the click.

A product that arrives and disappoints costs you a return, and costs us your trust permanently. That is a bad trade.

Every listing carries at least two honest drawbacks drawn from the product's own specifications. A four quart air fryer really is too small for a family of four. A one inch flat iron really is slow on long hair. Saying so costs a few clicks and keeps the recommendations worth reading.

Reviews are written from manufacturer specifications and listed features unless the page explicitly says the product was personally used. That distinction appears on every page rather than buried in a footer, because the difference between tested and researched matters when you are spending money.

04 Buy now, or wait for a better price?

For most products, waiting rarely pays unless a known sale event is close.

Amazon discounts rotate constantly. The specific model you are looking at may not be discounted again for months, or may be replaced by a newer version at full price. When you are deciding whether something is worth buying now, the useful question is not "will it ever be cheaper" but "is this price good enough that waiting is not worth the hassle".
